5 WAYS TO INSPIRE AND MOTIVATE YOUNG STUDENTS TO VOLUNTEER

With time the need and opportunities for volunteering for students has increased. The non-profit volunteer opportunities have increased with the digitalization of the globe. One can easily sign up with hundreds of online volunteering registration portals. Students can also get inspired when acts of kindness float around in social media. To make this world a better place we as individuals will have to inspire and motivate as many people as we can, especially the young ones. In this blog we will discuss some of the ways you can do it:

1. DEFINE THE WHY

Purpose and a sense of meaning are of the utmost importance when it comes to doing anything in life. To make kids volunteer you will have to make it clear to them why should they volunteer. Telling them volunteering should be done just because it is good is not a good plan. Teach them the importance of bearing responsibility, teach them to empathize. Make them understand the value of goodness.

2. ALLOW THEM TO THINK FOR THEMSELVES

After having explained to them the “why” to volunteer you should not make any other persuasive efforts. You can’t force anyone into doing anything, even anything good. Do not dictate anything, let them be moved by themselves.

3. LEAD BY EXAMPLE

This is the best way to make kids become charitable, inspire them with an example. Kids are desperately looking for inspiration, if you are someone they look up to, they are sure to follow. Get out on the field and do some volunteer work and trust us the joy in you will pull the kids to also volunteer with you.
